Our museum staff and volunteers can assist interested persons with research related to the items in our artefact collection, archival holdings and reference library (see menu on the left). We can also assist with research related to an individual’s previous military service, medals, uniforms, war grave and burial information, etc.

Please use the request form below to provide us with details of your request. We will consider your request and let you know what assistance we will be able to provide. We will then do our research and prepare material for you. Please allow for a reasonable delay while this process takes place.

For most requests, no charge will apply other than material costs such as making copies of documents or photos. A fee may apply to larger projects which require more extensive staff involvement. You will be advised in advance of any additional costs. If you are satisfied with the assistance we are able to provide, you might want to consider a donation to the Museum Fund for the assistance provided.

For more information on our research services, including suggestions for doing your own research online, go to Research.

Please Note: If your request involves researching the service records of someone who has served in the Canadian army, please include in the Request box above as much of the following information as possible:

  • Full name, date and place of birth
  • Date and location of enrolment, unit enrolled in, service number
  • Units served in, with dates and locations
  • Date of release and rank on release
  • Any other detail

Also note: Military service files for those who served after 1918 are restricted except for those who died in service between 1939 and 1947. The information available will, therefore, be limited.
