This museum is operated by The Loyal Edmonton Regiment Museum Foundation, a non-profit foundation. It receives no government funding other than grants which are available to heritage organizations for specific projects. Money for day-to-day operations is obtained by volunteers working our annual casino and by donations from the general public. We do not charge admission to our galleries or for most other services that we provide to the public.

We therefore operate with a part-time collections manager and rely on the efforts of a group of volunteers who assist in managing our collection and other tasks related to the operation of our galleries. If you have an interest in the history of the military in Edmonton and some time to spare, you might want to consider joining this group. Typically, our volunteers help out one day or half-day per week as their schedule permits.

Some of the ways in which you might help us include: care, handling, and storage of artefacts, assisting with preparing artefacts for display and setting up display cases, assisting with special events, and maintenance of gallery areas. Volunteers with special skills related to museum operations may be asked to assist with more complex tasks.
