In the decades since the Second World War, the world order has been dominated by Cold War politics, conflicts that arose in response to the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, and pressures of globablization. This section looks at the role Canada has played in many of these localized conflicts, either through international organizations like the UN or as a combatant.
